Discover the 2019 Ford Ranger at Jenkins Ford

Here at Jenkins Ford, the Ford Ranger has always been among our team members' favorite vehicles. First introduced way back when in 1983, the Ford Ranger was recognized as the bestselling pickup among its segment. Unfortunately, however, the pickup did meet its end in 2003. Until now, of course. With 2019 just around the corner, our team is chomping at the bit to welcome the all-new 2019 Ford Ranger to our new car dealership in Buckhannon. Interested in learning more about the all-new Ford Ranger? Then we encourage you to read on below...

The 2019 Ford Ranger is a True Blast From the Past

Introduced in 1982 as a 1983 model, the Ford Ranger was introduced to the market as a two-wheel-drive pickup truck. By the Fall of 1982, a four-wheel-drive version was made available. With a look that was inspired by its bigger brother, the Ford F-Series pickup, similarities could be seen in the grille design and the vehicle's bodyside character lines.

After a 10-year run, the Ford Ranger received a thorough redesign for 1993. Sporting a slightly rounded nose, and newly designed light clusters, the Ford Ranger also boasted a redesigned interior that featured new seats, door trim and a new instrument panel. In 1995, safety features were further improved, and a driver airbag became standard, while four-wheel ABS became available.

Recognized as the bestselling compact pickup since 1987, the Ford Ranger underwent a revamp for the 1998 model year. Given a stronger presence and boasting a longer wheel base, the Ford Ranger also featured new seats, and an optional sound system with both CD and cassette decks. Additional upgrades included improved handling, a fully boxed front frame and power rack-and-pinion steering, which further improved the vehicle's responsiveness.

Current Generation
For 2001, Ford continued to improve the Ranger lineup by improving its V6 engine and expanding the vehicle's selection of trim levels in order to ensure that there would be a Ranger to satisfy every automotive taste and need. Unfortunately, in 2003, the Ford Ranger was taken off of the U.S. market. Now, just over 14 years later, our team is eagerly awaiting the arrival of the 2019 Ford Ranger.

A Diesel Engine and Tech-Savvy Features to Match

The return of the Ford Ranger is finally upon us. While Ford has been selling this midsize pickup just about everywhere except for in the good ole USA, the competition has been heating things up among the midsize pickup segment. Now, with the 2019 model year just around the corner, all of that is about to change. Taking on vehicles such as the Chevrolet Colorado and the GMC Canyon, the all-new Ford Ranger is expected to arrive to the 2019 model year with an available diesel engine and a base price below $25K.

Of course, a diesel engine and a competitive base price isn't all that our customers should anticipate from this new pickup. The 2019 Ford Ranger is expected to use Ford's body-on-frame construction and will be only slightly smaller than the iconic Ford F-150. It's also worth noting, the crew cab on the 2019 Ford Rangers will actually be longer than a base F-150.

And when it comes to those tech-savvy amenities that our customers often crave? Not to worry! Like many other vehicles among the new Ford lineup, the all-new Ford Ranger is expected to utilize Ford's lineup of voice activated infotainment systems. With features such as SYNC 3, SYNC Connect and the new FordPass app currently available, our team looks forward to learning more about what the automaker has in store for the 2019 Ford Ranger.
